Being a disciple of Jesus Christ brings us into one body with all believers to see the gospel reach all the way from our neighborhood to Nepal.
It’s our Mission from God. We link arms with our neighbors to reach our neighbors, with our friends to reach our community, and with our partners to reach the ends of the earth.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Truly I tell you, whatever you did
for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me.’
– Matthew 25
Three Missions Principles
First, Do no harm.
Our missions team has many years of combined experience in both short-term trips and long-term relational support of those who go where we cannot. Relying on the wisdom of many counsellors and books like Toxic Charity by Bob Lupton and When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett and Brian Finkert, we will structure our “help” in ways that will not make things worse.
In extending compassion, we will seek to differentiate between crisis and chronic need, and provide resources accordingly. We will seek to meet real needs, not just what we think would be helpful. And, we will not create dependencies by doing for people what they can and should do for themselves.
Second, Make Disciples.
It’s what Jesus asked his disciples to do: Make. More. Disciples.
Whatever else we do, we must do that.
Third, Everybody’s sent.
There is no such thing as an “unsent” follower of Jesus. We are all sent as Jesus was sent. To whom are you sent? Go stand at the end of your driveway and look around.
God may call you to Nepal, be he has first called you to your neighbors.
Faith Promise is an agreement with God to be personally involved in ministry to others around the world through giving beyond tithing. The joy is in seeing God working, seeing the needs supplied and in realizing that we have entered into a partnership with God. By Faith, I Promise.
Together we make specific commitments (promises), that stretch us a little (faith), of what we will do to support important local and global mission endeavors in the coming year. This giving is all done beyond the general budget and never receives money from offerings.
Our missions team seeks like-minded mission and ministry partners who are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ. We want to extend “local compassion on a global scale” by coming alongside and supporting organizations and individuals with both financial and human resources.
Faith Promise Distribution (Rounded)

33% – International
13% – Local/Regional
3% – Special Projects
Faith Promise feeds into the World Evangelism Fund which enables Nazarenes around the world to work together to make Christlike disciples in the nations. This centralized oversight ensures long-term support, sustainability, and significant accountability for:
737 missionaries in 150+ countries

New church plants
Faith Promise resources also let us partner with missionaries with whom we have special relationships, like:

Generous giving to Faith Promise enables us to impact the lives of people in Lima and throughout our region:
Spring Hill Camp Scholarships
The Lima/Allen County Mentoring Network
Meals ‘til Monday
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Lima Rescue Mission
Youth for Christ
Rally Point Youth Center
CASA of Allen County
Heartbeat of Lima
The Salvation Army
… and more…
From time to time we become aware of needs that were not previously budgeted, and the Missions Team sets aside some funds to meet needs like:
Earthquake recovery (Nepal)
Solar panels for remote churches (Belieze)
A Chinese Orphanage
Refugee Relief (Nazarene Missions)
Flood recovery in West Virginia, Louisiana
The Church Of Lima
We’re especially excited to partner with other churches in Allen County that are building relationships and taking the gospel to people outside our own immediate sphere of influence. Often these are church plants or expansions of existing ministries into new areas of Allen county. Together, we are the Church of Lima.
